Orana Welcomes New CEO, Deborah Dutton
Orana is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah (Deb) Dutton as its new Chief Executive Officer, commencing January 2026.
Deb joins Orana with extensive leadership experience in the human services sector, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Rembrandt Living.
Renowned for her strategic insight, governance expertise, and commitment to quality outcomes for older Australians, Deb brings a clear alignment with Orana’s mission to support people with disability to live and work within their community as independently as possible.
“Deb’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Orana,” said Lindsay Stark, Chairman of the Orana Board. “Her deep understanding of human services, operational leadership, and values-driven approach will ensure Orana continues to build on its legacy of purpose and inclusion. We look forward to welcoming Deb as she leads the organisation into its next phase of growth and impact.”
The Board also acknowledges the late Jim Liu, whose leadership and dedication made a lasting impression on the organisation. Jim’s passing in August was deeply felt across the Orana community, and his contribution to the disability sector will long be remembered.
In the months following Jim’s passing, Nicholas Mihalaras, former Orana CEO and current Board Director, stepped in as Interim Chief Executive Officer. The Board extends its heartfelt thanks to Nicholas for his steady leadership, care, and commitment in guiding Orana through this period of transition.
With Deb’s appointment, Orana reaffirms its commitment to empowering people with disability through meaningful employment, independent living, and community inclusion – continuing the proud legacy built over 75 years of service.
