Disability Supported Employment Opportunities

Orana’s disability employment service offers people with disability opportunities to work and try out different jobs that might best suit their interests and help them improve their skills and abilities.

Working at Orana can help you:

Earn a wage

Working will give you more chances to get the things you want or need, which could make your life better and more comfortable overall.

Make new friends

Getting a job can make your social life better by giving you the chance to work as part of a team, make new friends, and take part in activities and events at work.

Learn new skills

Working will not only give you more experience, but it can also teach you new skills and help you learn more.

Boost your confidence

There’s more to getting a job than just earning money. You’ll feel more capable the more you can do on your own. When you feel proud of yourself and what you’ve done, your mind is healthier.

Knowing you’ve done a good day’s work can give you a real sense of satisfaction that boosts your confidence and sense of self-worth.

Live a new life

Starting the day with purpose, planning your time, looking forward to time off, and making plans for annual leave – this keeps your mind sharp and adds more meaning to your life.

To be able to work for Orana, you will need to meet the following:

  • Must have an NDIS plan
  • Work at least three-four days a week
  • Be in receipt of DSP
  • Stand for extended periods – up to six hours

Once you’ve checked if you meet the above requirements, contact our Intake Coordinator, and we will set up a time to talk with you about your employment options, what you’re interested in, and what we can do to help you along your employment journey.

We will also set up a three-month paid trial period in a safe and supportive environment so that you can get used to work. When needed, there will also be training on the job.

How do I get a job at Orana?

Once you have checked your eligibility, contact Orana and we will set up a time to talk to you about your employment options, what you’re interested in, and what we can do for you.

Do I need to work full time?

No, but you will need to work at least four days a week. We can talk about your work hours before you start your job. Our team is flexible to support your requirements for employment.

How much pay will I receive?

When you first start, the staff will look at how productive you are and what your key skills are and make an assessment. This will be your starting wage. Is there an opportunity for a pay rise?

Yes! Your wage will be re-assessed every year. If the results are higher than your current wage, you will get a pay increase.
