Common Ground Café Soft Opens at Orana Netley
Something special is brewing at Orana’s Netley site, with the soft opening of Common Ground Café marking an exciting new chapter for our community.
Currently open for Orana staff and families the café has been created as a welcoming space where people can work, learn, connect and grow, providing our community a welcoming space to grab a coffee, have some lunch or just chat with friends.
Over the coming months it will also provide some of our employees the opportunity to gain hands-on hospitality experience. From developing practical hospitality skills to building confidence and connecting with customers and colleagues, Common Ground is all about creating meaningful opportunities.
The café is also part of a wider transformation at Netley, with the front and back outdoor areas receiving a fresh new look. Refreshed gardens, along with new planting and landscaping have created welcoming spaces where people can take a break, or simply spend time together outdoors.
Bringing Common Ground Café and the refreshed outdoor spaces to life has been a true community effort. We extend our sincere thanks to Adelaide Marble Specialists, Beerenberg, Bickford’s, Federal Hospitality Equipment, Thirsty Earth Landscaping and Vilis Family Bakery for their generous support, as well as our community members who helped with cleaning, gardening and landscaping.
Their contributions have helped create spaces that encourage connection, inclusion, skill development and employment opportunities for people with disability.
The café has had a soft open, giving our team the chance to settle into their new workplace and build their confidence and skills.
And there’s more to come!
Common Ground Café will officially celebrate its grand opening in October.
Since 1950, Orana has been creating opportunities for people with disability to live, work, learn and connect. Common Ground Café is another exciting step in that journey.
Common Ground Café, where everyone is welcome.
