A Highland Adventure in the Adelaide Hills

Supporting people to thrive through meaningful community experiences.

Our Life Education group recently enjoyed a memorable day out in the Adelaide Hills, visiting Mac-Ladanae Highland Cattle Fold, home to a beautiful herd of Highland cattle.

Participants spent the day feeding the cows buckets of carrots, meeting both the adorable baby calves and the larger adult cattle, and learning more about farm life from Trevor, who generously hosted the group for the day. The visit also included lunch on the farm and plenty of opportunities to relax, socialise, and enjoy the peaceful outdoor setting.

Experiences like this are an important part of Orana’s Life Education program, which focuses on helping participants build confidence, independence, and everyday life skills through community access and hands-on learning opportunities. Based in Ridleyton, the program supports post-secondary students and adults in developing personal, social, recreational, and work-related skills to help them live as independently as possible.

A big thank you to Trevor and the entire Mac-Ladanae Highland team for creating such a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
