James Hits the Airwaves for World Down Syndrome Day
Turning Up the Volume on Inclusion: James Champions Inclusion on the Airwaves
On the morning of Wednesday, 19th March, the airwaves at Radio Adelaide were buzzing energy as James, one of Orana’s Volunteerability Disability Awareness Facilitators, Facilitators, stepped up to the mic. Joining host Paul Davies as a guest co-presenter on The Big Little Breakfast Show, James brought his trademark enthusiasm, and a powerful message of inclusion to the airwaves.
The special segment was part of a powerful lead-up to World Down Syndrome Day, celebrated globally on March 21st. With energy, confidence, and warmth, James used the platform to shine a spotlight on the importance of inclusion, awareness, and the contributions of people with Down syndrome in our community.
More than just a guest co-host, James became a voice for change, celebrating the achievements and contributions of people with Down syndrome, and reminding listeners of the value of a truly inclusive community.
James didn’t do it alone. Joining him and Paul Davies in the studio was Lou Wall, a talented comedian performing at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Their presence added a touch of Fringe flair and humour to the broadcast.
Throughout the hour, James brought his signature enthusiasm and insight, sharing stories and perspectives that highlighted the strengths, achievements, and aspirations of people with Down syndrome. His professionalism, natural presence behind the mic, and ability to engage listeners made the morning not only informative but also uplifting.
At Orana, we couldn’t be prouder of James and the incredible job he did as co-host. His appearance on The Big Little Breakfast Show wasn’t just radio, it was a celebration of voice, visibility, and community.
