With Love brand expands to furniture
Orana is committed to supporting and empowering our employees to realise their full potential to enable them to live their best life possible and to have a standard of living that reflects the general community.
Creating opportunities for our employees and at the same time providing our valued customers with first class outcomes remains our focus every day and inspires us to give our best. Orana’s furniture manufacturing site at our Port Pirie Business Centre employs six supported employees who undertake a range of activities such as cutting, moulding and sanding, to lovingly handcraft the beautiful pieces of Orana’s with love. furniture.
Orana proudly manufactures a range of quality furniture crafted to accommodate diverse tastes and styles. The timber bedroom furniture range, which includes beds, tallboys and bed side cabinets, is manufactured from the finest quality Australian ash and pine timbers. With dovetailed drawers and metal runners the furniture is truly made to last.
Orana’s highly trained employees ensure each and every product is produced to meet the high quality standards demanded by customers. Orana’s product range is quality tested regularly to ensure it meets current market requirements. As each product is handcrafted, our customers can be assured they are buying a quality product that will last a life time and enhance homes, with its clean lines and solid natural timber.
We are guided by our aim of enabling people with disability to fulfil their dreams and live as independently as possible. In addition to obtaining opportunities to undertake meaningful work and earning a wage, our employees receive a range of supports in the form of training, skill development programs and life skills support. These opportunities and supports make our employees feel valuable and raises each individual’s self-esteem. One of our employees Greg, has been employed at Orana’s Port Pirie Business Centre since 1984. Greg started in wood work, making small things such as cup holders (also known as a mug tree) and has slowly learnt how to make more complex pieces of furniture such as tallboys and using the new panel saw, with the support from his supervisors over the years. Greg also likes the friends that he has made since working at Orana.
Orana’s with love. furniture is available at leading retailers in South Australia. Many of our retail customers have been supporting Orana for many years and by supporting us, they are contributing to create a socially inclusive community.
