Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
As we are all aware, COVID-19 has had serious affects on people’s health. In addition, COVID-19 is significantly impacting businesses and the economy. In recent weeks, we have seen the economic impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable industries such as manufacturing. Businesses are rapidly adjusting to a broad range of interrelated issues including the changing needs of their people, their customers and suppliers, while navigating the financial and operational challenges ahead.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 crisis has affected a number of our business customers, with the demand for their goods and services and cash flow considerably reduced, with many reporting to have reduced their staffing hours or sadly have had to let staff go. Consequently, this has had a direct impact on Orana Business Services, resulting in a drastic reduction in revenue, with costs remaining essentially the same.
As a result of this reduction in revenue and the requirements to ensure physical distancing can be adhered to at our Business Services sites, we have had to make the difficult decision to reduce staff and employee hours in line with the reduction in revenue. This will ensure that we are able to retain our workforce in the long term and leave us in a sustainable position after COVID-19 restrictions are further lifted.
As the economy slowly recovers, we will re-evaluate the current working arrangements and communicate this to affected staff, employees and family members.
Whilst we have had to make this difficult decision, please be assured we are doing all that is possible to ensure the wellbeing of our workforce for the long term as the health and wellbeing of our employees, clients and staff remain our highest priority.
