An Evening Under the Stars – Post Event
Monday, December 2nd, 2019
Dressed to the nines, with their dancing shoes on, groovy guys and dancing queens flaunted their best moves at Orana’s inaugural ball, “An Evening Under the Stars” on Friday 29th November. Hosted on the lawns of historical Ayers House, it was a glamorous evening for everyone, in celebration of International Day of People with Disability.
Under the marquee strung with glittering lights, the gala ball was an event that brought together people with disability and the wider community. It was a night of laughter, fun and good company as guests shared in the experience of an evening under the stars.
Nick Mihalaras, the CEO of Orana, opened the evening with a heart-warming speech about the importance of the evening, how wonderful it is to come together as a community and thanked our many supporters for their contributions. During the fabulous three-course dinner, guests were treated to a spectacular performance by Dance Down, showcasing the wonderful talents of the local disability dance group, run by Down Syndrome SA.
Orana would like to give a very special thank you to:
All our wonderful sponsors, supporters and guests
The Employee Foundation of SA Power Networks for their donation
Our fantastic MCs James and Zoe
The spectacular band – Wild Side
Our photographers John Krueger and Xiomara Ruiz
Our videographer Stephen Ludwig
All the volunteers, venue staff and the Orana team
Everyone’s invaluable help, enthusiasm and energy made this possible and a wonderful evening.
It was certainly a glamorous, fun filled evening for all!
