A Healthier Future
Orana’s Cooking with Confidence classes are a recipe for success.
The NDIS service program teaches food preparation for cooking healthy meals, as well as kitchen safety and hygiene.
It is aimed to help people with disability feel more confident in the kitchen and can be tailored to suit individual needs. Participants choose which food they would like to cook and whether they prefer a small group or one-on-one setting.
Food needs to be provided by participants, but anyone with appropriate NDIS funding or who’s self-funded can join the cook up.
The program is delivered by Orana’s Developmental Educators and Client Development Coordinators.
Orana Clients at Murray Bridge, have been supported by Orana Client Development Coordinator, April. They all enjoy their cooking sessions while having fun with their mates.
David, an Orana client from accommodation services in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, was recently supported by Rowena through the program. His newfound skills in the kitchen will see help him live a happier, healthier and more independent future.
