Centre-based Respite Service in Whyalla
Sometimes we need time out from our everyday lives. We want to give families a break from the commitment of constant caring. We understand how hard this can sometimes be. For this reason we have a purpose-built respite centre in Whyalla, serving the West coast region, including Cleve, Kimba, Arno Bay and Pt Lincoln.
Our new Centre Based Respite Service has the capacity to provide overnight care to 4 individuals as well as provide a limited flexible respite service. The hours of operation are from Friday afternoons through to Sunday afternoons. The service will provide 24 hours care and support which will include an overnight passive shift for staff.The service provides a safe and supported environment with each client treated as an individual.
Accessing the Centre Based Respite Service incurs a fee. This fee will cover the cost of meals and outings. We envisage that all families registered with Orana will have the opportunity to access respite services.
To access this service you must be:
- registered with Disability Services SA.
- have an intellectual disability
- live in the regions of either Whyalla or Port Lincoln
