Kate Strohm has first hand knowledge about the valuable work that Orana undertakes as her sister, Helen, began work at one of the business services almost 30 years ago and is a resident of Amaroo Accommodation Service.

Kate has been involved in the health sector as a hospital scientist, researcher and educator. She has also had extensive experience as a print and radio journalist. In her current role with Siblings Australia, she comes into contact with many families, disability workers and organisations as well as government Ministers and employees.

Kate has been a member of the Orana Board for more than 10 years.

Kate has a very strong commitment to the ‘rights-based’ approach in the development of disability services. She also believes very strongly in the importance of ‘whole’ family support.
